Polyacetal article, prior to metallising by sputtering, is surface treated with an acid soln.. Metallised polyacetal article involving the use of the process, is also claimed. The aq. soln. is one or more organic acids, inorganic acids, mixts. of organic acids and water, Pref. after the surface treatment and before metallisation, the article is treated with an agent for neutrallising the acidic soln.. The treatment is very effective in promoting strong adhesion of an undercoat to the articles.
