In a device for laminating both sides of carrier panels with plastic films and a cutting device for cutting off the film, the device for laminating consists of an intake device on which the carrier panels to be coated with the film on both sides are laid with mutual, short spacings at their ends, after which the carrier panels are then transported into the roll nip between two opposite laminating rolls and are there coated on both sides with the continuous length of film. In order to cut off the overhang of film flush with the end at the successive carrier panels, the cutting device consists of a blade beam which is movable perpendicularly to the surface of the carrier panel and has a multiplicity of cutters, the cutting edges of which extend parallel to the transport direction and the width of which corresponds approximately to the end spacing between two successive carrier panels.
