PURPOSE:To enable printing to be performed with high accuracy in the moving direction of a squeegee, by using a gauze in which yarns showing little elongation are used in the moving direction of the squeegee while yarns showing a large elongation are used in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the squeegee, at the time of screen printing for producing a printed wiring board. CONSTITUTION:As yarns stretched in the moving direction Y of a squeegee in a screen gauze 2, stainless steel yarns or the like 6a having a high tensile strength are used, so that the screen gauze 2 shows little elongation in the direction Y at the time of printing, and printing with high accuracy in the direction X perpendicular to the moving direction Y of the squeegee, Tetoron yarns or the like 6b having a low tensile strength are used, so that the screen gauze 2 is sufficiently elongated in the direction X at the time of printing, and returns to its initail state on completion of the printing. Therefore, the screen gauze 2 is easy to handle. In addition, the screen gauze 2 thus produced is inexpensive as compared with a screen gauze formed wholly from stainless steel yarns 6a. |
