PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrostatic head capable of preventing breakage of a vapor-deposited layer and being enhanced in abrasion resistance of a photoconductive material layer, by covering both side surfaces of a glass body with a resin. CONSTITUTION:Indium oxide 2, which is conductive, is vapor-deposited in a thickness of 2-20mum on one face and an adjacent face of a glass body 1 which is 400mmX10mmX3mm in size. A selenium layer having a thickness of 1mum and an amorphous body having a thickness of 0.5-1mum are sequentially provided on the indium oxide layer 2 by vapor deposition, and a selenium layer having a thickness of 15mum is provided thereon by vapor deposition. After removing mechanical strains and electric strains generated by the vapor deposition, the glass body 1 is cut in a plane perpendicular to the indium oxide layer 2. To protect side surfaces of the indium oxide layer 2, a polyester layer 20 having a thickness of 3-5mum is applied to them. |
