This invention is concerned with an electro luminescence display element which can be displayed in multi-color by forming photo luminescence layer into the fluorescent layer composed of ZnS and Mn. While conventional EL display element displays the picture and information in a single color, this display element displays both in yellow colored-light of wave length 5850A≦̸ and in red colored-light of wave length 6140A≦̸. Therefore, this EL display element has the advantage that it can display picture and information in variety by emitting a yellow colored-light and a red colored-light.
