PURPOSE:To provide a thermal head capable of aligning two kinds of recorded dots in a straight line even in the case of high-speed printing, by a method wherein two heating resistors are provided in parallel to each other, and recording of one half of a line in a stroke by each of the resistors is conducted for the same line. CONSTITUTION:Two heating resistors 11, 12 are provided in parallel to each other, and end parts of the first electrodes 2a on one side are connected to the resistor 11. End parts of the second electrodes 2b on one side are passed under insulating films 13 spacedly provided on the lower side of the resistor 11, and are connected to the other resistor 12. The electrodes 2b are insulated from the resistor 11. End parts of electrodes 3 on the other side are connected in common to both of the resistors 11, 12. When a common terminal 5 is connected to a power source and all of the electrodes 3 on the other side 3 are grounded, only heating elements at parts indicated by non- shaped ellipses are supplied with an electric current to generate heat. When a common terminal 7 on the other side is connected to the power source and all of the electrodes 3 on the other side are grounded, only heating elements at parts indicated by the shaded ellipses are supplied with an electric current to generate heat. Namely, each of the heating resistors 11, 12 records one half of a line. |
