PURPOSE:To miniaturize an antenna by using a conductor folded in zigzag, in a curve or a rectangle form at a sufficiently shorter interval in comparison with the wavelength of the operating radio wave as the antenna. CONSTITUTION:The conductor of the antenna element is folded in a zigzag, a curve or a rectangle minutely at a sufficiently smaller interval in comparison with the wavelength of the operating radio wave in a direction in which the antenna current flows. Thus, since the conductor is longer than the mechanical length of the element, the traveling wave current flows along the conductor but the radiated electric field is the combined electric field distributed in the axial direction of the elements. Since the adjacent conductors folded in zigzag are capacitive and the folded tip in zigzag gives an inductive reactance, a parallel circuit comprising a capacitor and a coil is distributed to the entire element, and a distributed equal to the long line apparently is formed. Thus, the antenna is miniaturized.
