PURPOSE:To inform the call being an object of conversation to the operator by prolonging a detection time of a CI signal when the CI signal from a caller side is detected again within a prescribed time after line disconnection. CONSTITUTION:When a call is given from a telephone set being an object of conversation to a facsimile equipment in the automatic reception state, a timer 11 is cleared and when the CI signal is detected by a set count A, the reception operation is restored. Since no facsimile signal is sent from the opposite party, the error end is caused and the line is disconnected. Then an automatic reception fail flag is cleared, after the program timer 11 is set, a count B is set in a CI detection counter and the count B is a larger than the count A. When the CI is detected until the time of the programmable timer 11 is over, the CI signal is detected by the count B. Thus, since the operator of the called party recognizes the call being an object of conversation because the telephone ring time is longer than the usual case.
