PURPOSE:To perform an appropriate maintenance in accordance with the using situation by counting and storing the rotational frequency of a magnetic memory medium and issuing the alarm when the accumulating total of the rotational frequency exceeds the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:An index signal 7, which outputs a pulse at every rotation of the memory medium only while a gate circuit 2 outputs a read/write designation signal 6, is outputted to a counter. A maintenance necessary number comparator 4 compares the result 9 counted by the counter 3 with the rotational frequency requiring maintenance. If the result 9 is larger, an alarm signal 11 is outputted to warn a user of the necessity of maintenance. Thus the appropriate maintenance can be done according as how the magnetic memory device is used. |
