PURPOSE:To save an expensive DC high voltage power source by applying a voltage to the conductive toner recovery roller in a cleaning device by utilizing the output of another high voltage power unit. CONSTITUTION:An image carrier drum 1 is provided with the toner recovery roller 3 made of a conductive material together with a cleaning blade 2, the toner recovery roller 3 is applied with a voltage having the opposite polarity from a charge that the toner has, and toner T separated by the cleaning blade 2 is attracted and recovered. A voltage divider 8 is used to utilize a DC high voltage power source 7 for a charging electrode 6 as the power source for the toner recovery roller 3. The DC high voltage power source 7 for the transfer electrode 21 can be utilized and the output of an AC high voltage power source 17 which applies a voltage to a separation electrode 22 and a discharging electrode 23 is rectified and also usable. |
