PURPOSE:To prevent generation of flow in picture image even under high humidity by allowing a member for cleaning a photosensitive body contg. a grinding material comprising a specified material to contact intermittently with an amorphous silicon photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A mechanism is provided wherein a cleaning member contg. at least one grinding material selected from each carbonate or sulfate of alkaline earth metals, rare earth metals, transition metals; Fe3O4, and clay minerals having lamellar structure to contact intermittently with an amorphous silicon photosensitive body. In the contact mechanism, a manual or automatic electromagnet or electric motor mechanism is used. The cleaning member is prepd. by solidifying and molding a grinding material with an org. binder to a shape suitable to a cleaning blade, roll, or brush, or by mixing the grinding material with a resinous cleaning blade or cleaning brush. Suitable contact time is 1/5-1/500 for the revolving time of a drum.
