Resilient polyurethane end caps are formed on an annular filter element from a composition comprising a propylene oxide polymer and a polyisocyanate setting agent. The polymer may be polypropylene glycol and the setting agent may be polymethylene polyphenylisocyanate or diisocyanate-diarylmethane. A metal disc may also be included in the end cap. The element may have inner and outer supporting tubes made of perforated metal or wire gauze. The element may be pleated or spiral and may comprise paper, felt or metallic or plastic gauze.
