A cleaning machine particularly for cleaning carpets has parallel cleaning rollers 15, 16 driven by an endless belt 10 which bears by its inner surface on a pulley 12 driving the roller 15, and by its outer surface 18 on a pulley 13 driving the roller 16, and the belt 10 is flat and has a fabric core coated on both sides with plastics material. One of the pulleys 12, 13 or a guide roller 19 is adjustable for tensioning the belt. In an alternative arrangement two guide rollers 19 are provided at each side of the pulley 13 to increase the power transmission between, the belt 10 and the pulley 13. |
