An integral photographic film unit Fig. 1 comprises a photo-sensitive sheet 12 in face-toface contact with an image-receiving sheet 14, the lateral edges and one end edge of sheets 12 and 14 being bound together by a binding strip 24, and a rupturable container 16 sealed to the other end edges of sheets 12 and 14 and carrying a viscous liquid processing composition which is dischargeable between sheets 12 and 14 when the container is subjected to pressure. The marginal portions at the lateral edges and at one end edge of one of the sheets (e. g. sheet 14) may be embossed towards the other sheet (see also Fig. 2), and the end of the film unit away from the rupturable container may have traps for excess processing liquid. At least one of the sheets 12 and 14 is transparent to allow exposure of the photo-sensitive layer and viewing of the image formed. Sheets 12 and 14 may be a silver halide sheet and an imagereceiving sheet for the silver salt diffusion process to give a black-and-white image or sheet 12 may comprise a plurality of layers containing differently sensitized emulsion layers and associated dyedevelopers to give a colour image on the image receiving layer 14. The processing liquid may contain a white opacifying agent, the image then being viewed against the white layer of spread processing liquid and the unit remaining after processing as an integral unit. |
