PURPOSE:To prevent occurance of jam and to achieve recording on various sizes of sheet by selecting an optimum sheet according to a set original size and specified variable power and carrying the sheet in a proper carrying path for recording operation. CONSTITUTION:An editor 70 is located on an original pressing plate 34 to be used for selection of an area specification, multiplex mode or the like. A plurality of cassettes can be installed and an optimum sheet cassette can be automatically selected according to the original size and variable power. A sheet refeeding mechanism for perfecting copy or multiplex copy comprises two systems of a second feeding unit 23 and an intermediate tray 40, and an optimum system is selected by a program according to the sheet size and number. The second feeding unit 23 is used for perfecting copy and multiplex copy, having some degrees of freedom of sheet size, while the intermediate tray 40 is suitable for copying of a large number of sheets, with the sheet size fixed. Therefore, proper operation can be performed according to the kind of sheet. |
