PURPOSE:To suppress pressure fogging, impart a sufficient developed color density and make printing quality stable with time, by incorporating a specified compound in a layer comprising microcapsules containing a color former therein. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula (I) is incorporated in a layer comprising microcapsules containing a color former therein, in a pressure-sensitive recording sheet for obtaining a developed color image through a reaction of an electron- donative color former and an electron-acceptive color developer. In formula (I), X is -OH, -SH or -COOR, R is hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl, and each of R<1>, R<2> and R<3>, which may be the same or different, is hydrogen, an alkyl, aryl, carboxylic acid group, halogen, hydroxyl, amino or nitro. The amount of the compound of formula (I) applied is preferably 0.03-0.5g/m<2>. The compound may be added to a coating liquid containing the microcapsules, either directly or after being dispersed in water together with a dispersing aid, or may be incorporated into the microcapsules. The color developer is applied to a base such as a paper together with a binder, whereas the color former is dissolved in a solvent, the resultant solution is microencapsulated, and the microcapsules are applied to the base. |
