PURPOSE:To perform stable trimming, by giving a toe-in angle to round edge shafts of side trimming devices, consisting of upper and bottom round edges, tilting the left side clockwise while the right side counterclockwise as viewed from the downstream of a line, in the case of the continuously processing line. CONSTITUTION:Side trimming devices 4a, 4b, oppositely arranged in the width direction of a steel strip 1, can rotate on a horizontal surface, and toe-in angles 3a, 3b are given to the devices integrally setting each upper and bottom edge in the same degree and in the same direction. The steel strip 1 is fed in the direction of an arrow head 2 in the drawing, and edge position detectors 6a, 6b continuously detect a trim margin to be output to an arithmetic unit 7 in accordance with a difference between an edge position and a preset trim width. And the trimming devices 4a, 4b, in which the arithmetic unit 7 calculates the toe-in angle for the trim margin by a prestored table or a function expression, adjust the toe-in angles 3a, 3b through toe-in angle adjusters 5a, 5b in driving and operating sides.
