PURPOSE:To set freely the searching range of an idle channel and to limit the frequency to a specific frequency by allowing a data processing control means to search an idle channel through the operation processing of an idle channel frequency until a numeral displayed on a count means is equal to the channel number of the idle channel searching. CONSTITUTION:A data processing control means 2 computing-processing a frequency of an idle channel consists of an arithmetic processing section 3 and a counter 4. In the data processing control means 2 receiving an idle channel searching start signal from a call means 1, the arithmetic processing section 3 operates and decides an idle channel frequency based on a signal from a start channel storage means 12, a signal from a step frequency storage means 15 and a signal from a comparison means 20. The frequency data signal subject to the operation decision is outputted to an idle channel storage means 5 and a frequency synthesizer 6. A reception section 7 receives the frequency oscillated from the frequency synthesizer 6 from an antenna 9 and an idle channel detection means 8 discriminates whether or not the received frequency is the idle channel frequency.
