PURPOSE:To set a label format without being accompanied by a key operation, by providing a memory for storing a printing parameter, and providing a parameter selecting means for selecting it from said memory and forming the label format. CONSTITUTION:A label format is decomposed to plural printing parameters such as a size of a label, a bar-code format, a printing position, etc., set in advance, respectively, and stored in a memory. In this state, when the mode is set to a setting mode by a mode setting switch 26, a condition of every printing parameter is set by a slide type selecting mark by operating plural selecting parts 13 of a selecting means 12, in accordance with an inputted key. In this way, when a label cassette 10 which has been set is set to an electronic charge scale 1, the selecting part 13 is opposed to an identification part 15 of the inside of the scale 1 and its contents are read. As a result, the label format is determined, and necessary printing is executed by a thermal printer 5.
