PURPOSE:To reduce the mutual coupling between dipole antennas without incurring the gain reduction of an element pattern and narrowed beam width by arranging two metallic pieces symmetrically around the center axis of dipoles in the radiation direction of the dipoles so as to constitute an antenna element. CONSTITUTION:Dipole antennas 1a, 1b are formed by arranging a metallic body at a position symmetrical respectively with respect to straight lines A, B. Two metallic pieces 6 are placed to one dipole antenna and symmetrically with respect to the straight lines A, B. If no metallic pieces 6 are placed, an electric field CO is coupled with the dipole antenna 1b at a strong level. In providing the metallic pieces 6, the electric field is divided into an electric field C1 coupled with the dipole antenna 1b and an electric field C2 coupled with the metallic pieces 6. The metallic pieces are arranged symmetrically with respect to the symmetrical axis of each dipole and the electric field given to the metallic pieces is designed not to much in this way, thereby preventing that the gain of an array element pattern is decrease and the beam width is too narrow.
