<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a machine sort selecting switch by providing a process for determining an instruction to be sent based on the corresponding result of an answer signal from a VTR to a series of instruction signals. CONSTITUTION:At the execution of editing work for copying a part of a video signal sent from a VTR 1 to a VTR 3, a VTR control device 5 has to retrieve a reproducing or recording start point. In the retrieval executing method, tape speed is decelerated in accordance with approach to an objective position and the VTR control device 5 sends respective instructions to respective VTRs in the order of (a)-(f). Respective instructions (a)-(f) are sent to a VTR 6 through an I/O circuit 7 prior to the start of the retrieving work, compared with answer signals from the VTR 6 by a comparator 11 and set up in a register 12 corresponding to the answer signals. Since respective instructions are prepared correspondingly to the VTRs to be controlled, an instruction disabling the execution of the VTR to be controlled is not sent, so that the retrieving work can be ended within a short period.</p> |
