PURPOSE:To protect the contents of main memory by transferring these memory contents to a secondary memory for saving when a main CPU receives a transfer command from a transfer command from a main console in an off-line mode of a numerical control system. CONSTITUTION:When a main CPU 1 receives a transfer command from a main console 3 in an off-line mode, the data stored in a main memory 9 are supplied to a floppy disk device 13 via a floppy disk input/output circuit 12b and stored in a floppy disk sheet. At the same time, an access is given to a local CPU 15 via input/output circuits 12c and 18 and a transfer request is delivered fro the data stored in a local memory 16. The CPU 15 reads the information out of the memory 16 to transfer it to the CPU 1 and the CPU 1 supplies this information to a device 13. Thus the memory contents can be protected against the break of a power supply. Furthermore the data stored in the device 13 can be sent back to both memories 9 and 16 by reversing the above-mentioned operation.
