PURPOSE:To attain asynchronizing communication as well by utilizing that the LSI of a programmable time used for synchronizing communication has a waveform output function and using a clock from the LSI as an asynchronizing communication clock. CONSTITUTION:In case of the asynchronizing communication in generating a communication clock signal 13 fed to a communication circuit 8, since to reply from an opposite party is received, a programmable timer 6 for a reply supervisory time is not required. Then the function of the waveform output of the programmable timer 6 not required in this case is utilized and the programmable timer 6 is used a an asynchronizing communication clock generation circuit. In changing the setting of a communication clock changeover register 7, both the synchronizing and asynchronizing communication are attained and a hardware is saved.
