PURPOSE:To eliminate a skewing mechanism from an optical head, by controlling the optical head by inclining an optical recording medium placing table in accordance with the deflection of a recording medium so that the optical axis of the optical head can always become perpendicular to the surface of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 36 is driven, a worm gear 37 coupled with the motor 36 causes a gear 41 fitted with a pin 40 to rotate through a worm wheel 38 and gear 39 and, when the pin 40 rotates, one side of a fixing plate 33 is pushed up. Moreover, since a force is applied from the top by means of a plate spring 35, a driving motor 30 rotates in A-A' direction around a shaft 34 and inclines a disk-like recording medium 31 placed on a turntable 32 in A-A' direction. Therefore, even if a deflection is produced in the recording medium 31, the turntable 32 is inclined in corresponding with the deflection of the medium 31. Accordingly, the perpendicularly intersecting relation between the optical axis of an optical head 42 and the disk-like recording medium 31 can always be maintained.
