PURPOSE:To obtain a tPA-containing pharmaceutical composition having remarkably increased solubility in water and useful for the remedy of circulatory diseases caused by thrombogenesis, by compounding a tissue plasminogen activation factor (tPA) with arginine or its salt. CONSTITUTION:A tPA-containing pharmaceutical composition having increased solubility in water can be produced by compounding tPA with arginine or its salt (e.g. hydrochloride, acetate, aspartate, etc.). For example, the solubility of tPA is remarkably increased in the presence of arginine hydrochloride at a concentration of 1% and its effect is increased with the amount of arginine hydrochloride. The titled composition may be a solid or aqueous composition or tPA and arginine or its salt may be separately packaged.
