PURPOSE:To shorten a cursor operating time and to miniaturize a cursor controller by using a pair of row direction key switches, a pair of column direction key switches, plural specific circuits, the row and column direction shift amount counters, and a cursor address register to shift obliquely the cursor. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch 1 is pushed while a cursor is set on a display device 24, a contact signal is produced and supplied to a terminal A1 of a priority circuit 11 via an AND gate 5 and an OR gate 9. Then the output given from a terminal A of the circuit 11 is supplied to an (x) direction shift amount counter 18 and counted up by the indication given from an (x) direction decoding circuit 22. Here the signal sent from the terminal A keeps an On sate of a T time monitor circuit A12 for time T and is outputted to an AND gate 14 when key switches 3 and 4 are pushed within the time T during which the switch 1 is pushed. As a result, the counter 18 and a (y) direction shift amount counter 19 perform the count-up actions while the switches 1 and 3 are pushed. While the cursor is shifted to a display device 25.
