PURPOSE:To simultaneously control concns. of Si, Mn and S in a blast furnace molten iron by blowing a powder mixture prepd. by adding a CaO source and MgO source to iron ore powder and Mn ore powder into a blast furnace through the tuyere thereof. CONSTITUTION:The iron ore, Mn ore, limestone and serpentine are respectively supplied via flow rate control valves 6 and flow meters 7 from an iron ore storage hopper 1, an Mn ore storage hopper 2, a limestone storage hopper 3, and a serpentine storage hopper 4 to a discharge piping 5. The composite compd. thereof or the powder mixture composed thereof is blown through a blowing nozzle 9 installed to the tuyere 8 into the blast furnace 10. The deviation in the concns. of Si, Mn and S in the molten iron is relieved by blowing the iron ore, Mn ore, limestone and serpentine from the tuyere 8 at the specified total blowing rate according to the respective values of Si, Mn and S in the molten iron and changing the blowing rate in the circumferential direction for each of the orientation of a tap hole.
