PURPOSE:To automatically set a convergence by providing a light beam detector of R, G, B moving in an X-Y direction on a reflection mirror of a projection type television and feeding back its detecting output to a convergence circuit. CONSTITUTION:During an adjustment, from a control circuit 13, an adjustment instructing signal instructs an X-Y running system to operate and oscillating circuits 4R, 7R are oscillated in a prescribed frequency. During the adjustment, an address to the position of a photodetecting part is fed to an address oscillating circuit 6R from the control circuit 13. A running system 14 has an address coinciding with an EEP-ROM 9R when a photodetecting element is set. Under this state, for instance, when only a red longitudinal line is slightly moved from a left side of an alternate long and short dash line rightward, the photodetecting element Ry detects it and the output of a detecting circuit 1R becomes a maximum at a longitudinal dashed line. When correcting it, the output of a counter 8R and the output of a ROM 9 are operated in an arithmetic processing circuit 10R, converted by a converter 11R and a deformed waveform is transmitted to the convergence circuit 12R.
