PURPOSE:To obtain high-strength formed goods of fiber-reinforced metallic composite material by preparing a woven fabric by use of a preformed wire as a warp and a matrix material formed into thread or fine-wire shape as a weft, by laminating the resulting fabrics, and by subjecting the laminated fabrics to hot-press or hot-roll forming. CONSTITUTION:The preformed wire is used as warp, and the matrix material which is formed into the shape of thread or fine wire is used as weft. As the weft to be used with the warp of preformed wire, the same material that is used as the matrix of the preformed wire is employed. Above-mentioned ward and weft are woven into fabrics and the obtained fabrics are laminated, and the laminated fabrics are then subjected to hot-press or hot-roll forming.
