PURPOSE:To transmit signals different in transmission type according to equipments to be controlled and the contents to be controlled by storing forming methods of remote control signals of plural transmission types in a memory means, and forming the remote control signal by the selected forming method. CONSTITUTION:The forming method of the remote control signals of the plural transmission types is previously stored in the memory means 8. In a forming method selecting means of a control circuit 9, a selection method for selecting the forming method of the first type of the means 8 during the control of a TV, based on the discriminating signal of a discriminating circuit 7 and selecting the forming method of the third type of the means 8 during the control of a VTR is preset. On an initial resetting by energizing a power source, a microcomputer 2 waits for an input of an operation key signal. When the key switch KS of an operation key part 1 is pressed and the operation key signal of an input circuit 6 is started to be inputted, an initial data code of the contents of the control designated by the operation key signal is formed.
