PURPOSE:To suppress stably the suppression of relaxation oscillation and oscillated wavelength chirping by specifying the length of the 1st and 2nd fibers and feeding back the light of a digital information signal before one time slot by the feedback of its own light. CONSTITUTION:The 1st optical fiber 14 propagates the light from a light emitting element 13. The 2nd optical fiber 15 is connected to the fiber 14. The 1st and 2nd reflection films are provided respectively to one end of the fibers 14, 15. The length L1 of the fiber 14 if expressed in equation I and the length L2 of the fiber 15 is expressed in equation II, where C is the light velocity in the fibers 14, 15, fb is an information signal frequency and td is a delay time from the time of current injection of the element 13 to the light emission. Then the light before at least one time slot of the digital information signal is fed back by the feedback of its own light. Thus, the relaxation oscillation and the chirping of oscillation wavelength are suppressed stably. |
