[Also in Division F2] In a digger tooth assembly in which a tooth 5 is retained on a support 1 by a key 10 located in a keyway defined, when the tooth is correctly located on the support, by aligned bores 9, 8 in the tooth and the support, the key 10 is retained in the keyway by a roller 19 so encaged in the nose as to be prevented from moving laterally and longitudinally of the key whilst being rotatable about an axis transverse of the key and movable away from the key against a bias means 17 located in the nose. The bias means 17- a resilient blockmay bear directly on the roller as shown or on a flat plate abutting the roller or on a U-shaped saddle partially embracing the roller. Either a single roller is located centrally of the nose or in a central pocket in the upper face of the nose or a pair of rollers are located one in either side of the nose to engage annular recesses in short, cylindrical keys located in the aligned, keyways of cylindrical section formed in the sides of a tooth assembly. |
