The invention relates to the manufacture of patterns by silk screen printing on objects, made particularly of glass, and more precisely the production of negatives usable for making stencils necessary for manufacturing such patterns. It proposes exposing a photosensitive film which constitutes the negative necessary for the production of the stencil, with the aid of an optical head equipped with a diaphragm consisting of a rotating disc into which is or are pierced one or more holes, the selection of a drawing to be exposed on the film being carried out by rotation of the disc. The invention is applied to the manufacture of patterns on objects, made in particular from glass and more particularly to the manufacture of heating networks having a width which is regularly and symmetrically variable on car windows. <IMAGE>
