A solar thermal collector with circulation of air or any other gas, comprising a casing having a wall 1 permeable to solar radiation and housing an absorber 2, that face of which which is not exposed to the light is traversed by baffles 6, an air-water exchanger 4 and a fan 7 housed between two baffles. The collector is characterised essentially in that the exchanger is positioned directly under the unexposed face of the absorber, this latter face being ventilated solely by the forced circulation of air. As an option, and for the purpose of eliminating the heat losses due to conduction and convection, the spaces between the absorber 2 and the glazing 1 and/or between two panes of the glazing are under vacuum. <IMAGE>
