摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to shorten the time from the melting of ink to the peeling of an ink ribbon and to obtain good printing quality even to recording paper inferior in smoothness, by a method wherein a notch is provided to a heat dissipating plate to be set to a release point and one of heat generating resistor rows is arranged so that the terminal of each heat generating resistor element is positioned within a specific length from the release point and the angel of the notch is properly imparted to set a release angle. CONSTITUTION:The distance from the terminal of a heat-generating resistor element 6 to the end (the end edge of the notch 17) of a heat dissipating plate 1 is set to 1mm or less. After solid ink 13 is melted under heating by a rear heat generating resistor row 5b, an ink ribbon 11 moves over a short distance to reach a release point 19. the ink ribbon 11 can be released from recording paper 14 at the release point 19 before molten ink 16b is solidified. If a front heat generating resistor row 5a is formed in the vicinity of the rear heat generating resistor row 5b, the ink ribbon 11 can be released before the solid ink 16a melted under heating by the front heat- generating resistor row 5a is solidified. Inclination is provided to the notch 17 provided to the heat dissipating plate 1 in the thickness direction and the angle of inclination of said notch 17 is adjusted to 40-90 deg. to make it possible to optimumly select the release angle 18 of the ink ribbon.
