PURPOSE:To obtain good printing quality even to recording paper inferior in smoothness, by setting the distance from the terminal of the heat generating resistor element of each row to the end of a heat dissipating plate or the end edge of the notch provided to said heat dissipating plate to a specific length or less and providing a peeling means to each notch part of the heat dissipating plate. CONSTITUTION:Each of distances 9a, 9b from the terminals of the heat generating resistor elements 6 of both rows to the release ends 17a, 17b of a heat dissipating plate is set to 2mm or less. A part 16b where the solid ink 13 of an ink ribbon 11 is melted under heating by the rear heat generating resistor row 5b reaches the release end 17b of the heat dissipating plate 1 within a short time. The molten part 16a of the solid ink heated by the front heat-generating resistor row 5a is separated from the ink ribbon 11 by the ink ribbon release roller 19 arranged to the part of the notch 18 on the heat dissipating plate 1. Both heat-generating resistor rows 5a, 5b are positioned in the vicinity of the release ends 17a, 17b of the heat dissipating plate 1 and, therefore, after the solid ink 13 is melted under heating, the ink ribbon 11 can be released from recording paper 14 by each release means before said ink is solidified. Therefore, high-quality recording can be applied even to low smoothness paper. |
