PURPOSE:To attain high accuracy in size, to facilitate moulding and working, to improve the productivity and sufficient heat dissipation effect by forming a resin coating layer to a prescribed surface of a base material of an optical pickup case. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy dicast is used for a base material 11 of an optical pickup case. A thermosetting resin is injected from a sprue 14 into a resin layer forming cavity 13 to form a resin layer 15 having a prescribed accuracy to the surface of the base material 11. In this case, a metallic die 12 is brought into contact a bottom 10 of the base material 2 not formed with the resin layer and a laser light source fitting part 9. Thus, the accuracy of size of the resin forming layer formed to the surface part is improved, the bonding strength with the mother metal is large and the heat dissipation characteristic of the laser light source is improved and the optical pickup case with excellent heat resistance, moisture resistance, excellent temperature cycle and high reliability is manufactured easily.
