PURPOSE:To adjust the position of a lens barrel with high resolution by cutting threads in the outside surface of the lens barrel and a lens barrel supporting part and moving the lens barrel in the optical-axis directions by rotation, and clamping the lens barrel by the lens barrel supporting part. CONSTITUTION:Light from a semiconductor laser 10 as a light source is shaped into a beam having a desired beam waist position. The lens barrel 11 incorporates a lens system which shapes the light from the semiconductor laser 10 and a male screw 11a is formed on the outside surface of the lens barrel 11. A female screw 11a which engages with the male screw 11a of the lens barrel 1 is formed on the supporting part 12 for supporting the lens barrel 11, which is supported movably in the optical-axis directions by rotating around the supporting part 12. The supporting part 12b has a cut 12b extending in the optical-axis direction of a wall part and this cut 12b is clamped with a fixing screw 13, so that the lens barrel 11 is fixed. Thus, the position of the lens barrel is adjusted with high resolution.
