PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent transparency, strength, water resistance, moldability, etc., by blending a polymer having an arom. vinyl compd. unit and a methyl methacrylate unit with a brominated arom, compd. and a phosphite compd. CONSTITUTION:70-95pts.wt. polymer (A) composed of 31-80wt% arom. vinyl compd. unit and 69-20wt% methyl methacrylate unit (e.g., a styrene/methyl methacrylate copolymer resin) is mixed with 2-29.9pts.wt. at least one compd. (C) selected from among brominated arom. compds, having a m.p. of 90-200 deg.C (e.g., tetrabromophenol A, brominated biphenyl oxide) and 0.1-3pts.wt. at least one compd. (C) selected from among phosphite compds. having a m.p. of 40-200 deg.C (e.g., bisphenol A pentaerythritol phosphite) in such a proportion that the combined quantity is 100pts.wt., thus obtaining the desired flame- retardant resin compsn.
