PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease of conveyance efficiency during conveyance of a viscous material or the like by selecting a cover covering the upper section of a screw conveyor which has a shape forming an idle space in response to a conveyed material. CONSTITUTION:A screw conveyor casing 1 is split-formed into the upper half and lower-half sections, which are integrated with bolts 3. The upper-half section 2 is selected so that a space formed between the upper-half section and a screw 4 is made an adequate size in response to the grain size, viscosity, etc. of a conveyed material. According to this constitution, clogging is prevented and a decrease of conveyance efficiency can be prevented.
