PURPOSE:To provide an efficient atomization of liquid fuel, a sufficient mixing of the atomized fuel with air and enable a superior combustion to be performed by a method wherein a plurality of air holes are formed adjacent to an edge part of a housing and air is injected into he atomization flow of fine particles of fuel at the edge through air holes. CONSTITUTION:Liquid fuel is supplied to an edge part 26 through nozzle holes 6, made as fine particles and injected outwardly. A stepped housing 100 encloses an atomization device 1 and is provided with a small diameter housing part 102 which is extended to a located slightly downstream of the edge part 26. The diameter housing part 102 is formed with a plurality of air holes 130 and then secondary air flow 114a is radially fed from the air holes 130. This secondary air flow 114a flows into a circulation flow region 122, is mixed with an atomization fluid with excessive fuel to generate the atomization flow mixed with a proper amount of air. With this arrangement, the atomized fuel is made as fine particles, a stable atomization is carried out and a superior combustion can be accomplished.
