<p>PURPOSE:To accurately detect whether a sheet discharge part is rendered full of sheets, irrespective of the thickness of a sheet, by a method wherein a sheet discharge detecting switch additionally functions as a full-of-sheet detecting switch. CONSTITUTION:The forward end of a sheet 9, fed to a sheet discharge part, pushes an actuator 61 of a sheet discharge detecting switch 6 in a direction in which the sheet is discharged, and the control part of a copying machine body detects that the sheet 9 passes a fixing roller. When the sheet discharge part is already full of sheets, even if the sheet 9, passing fixing rollers 1 and 2 to depress the actuator 61, passes the fixing rollers 1 and 2, the sheet is left in a state to depress the actuator 61 without dropping down to the sheet discharge part. Thereby, a switch part 60 is left turned ON, and a timer is timed up. When the timer is timed up, the copying machine body decides that the sheet discharged part is in a state to be full of the sheets, the fact is displayed on a display unit, and motion is stopped to stop the feed of the sheet.</p> |
