PURPOSE:To provide a stable flame using major fuel of fine powder coals and having flame temperature by a method wherein an auxiliary combustion gas preheating device capable of producing hot auxiliary combustion gas is arranged in a main body of a burner. CONSTITUTION:Hot combustion generated gas with flame formed in each of combustion chamber 10a...10n and auxiliary combustion gas forming gas curtain are mixed with each other at a mixing part 14 to from hot auxiliary combustion gas. This gas passes through hot auxiliary combustion gas nozzles 16a and 16b and then is injected into a main combustion chamber 17. In turn, th fine powder coals fed through a fine powder coal supplying pipe 2 together with transportation gas are similarly injected into the main combustion chamber 17, mixed with hot auxiliary combustion gas injected through injection nozzles 16a and 16b, ignited and the injected from fine powder coal flame injection port 18 to form a fine powder coal combustion flame 19. Since the auxiliary combustion gas is hot in the main combustion chamber 17, a stable combustion is continued and thus a stable flame of a temperature of about 2,000-2,400 deg.C can be attained.
