1293474 Turning inside out U KLINGEL [trading as ULRICH KLINGEL MASCHINEN UND APPARATEBAU] 18 Aug 1970 39640/70 Heading D1X An everting device for socks and stockings comprises inner and outer spaced tubes 1, 3, the head end of the tube 3 extending beyond the inner and being provided with a nozzle 2, means 12, being provided to apply suction to the inter-tube space to draw over the inner tube an article 6 supplied to the nozzle with its open end leading and means for reversing the direction of air flow (Fig. 2, not shown) to draw the article through the inner tube 1 and thus turn it inside out. Nozzles 8 for assisting progress of the material over and off the inner tube are provided. The flow reversing means comprises change over valves 10, 11, 13 which may be controlled by light sensitive detectors (L, Fig. 2, not shown). The nozzle is adjustably mounted on its tube 2. A receptor for the everted article is provided at 14. In a modification (Figs. 5 and 6 not shown) the tube 3 is of box like formation and a reversible article conveyor (26) is provided adjacent the outer walls of tube 1 to provide the means for assisting the material over and off the tube 3. The device may be associated with an article seaming device such as a sewing machine (24, Fig. 4, not shown) and a conveyor (15) having clamps (16) operated by detents (21, 22) to convey seamed articles from the device (24) to a hopper (17) for the everting device. |
