PURPOSE:To obtain a cell having excellent water-proof performance by preliminarily discharging a cell prior to covering with thermoplastic resin, thereby maintaining thermal stability of positive electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:In general, when a metal is intercalated into TiS2 or when TiS2 will take a metal excessive composition, it will be relatively stable even under high temperature. On the basis of this fact, a cell is preliminarily discharged and copper in a negative electrode active material is intercalated into a positive electrode active material CuxTiS2 so as to obtain a metal excessive composition or structure, thereby the cell can be stabilized under high temperature. The open circuit potential of CuxTiS2 (0<x<0.1) is 0.6V-0.53V. In other word, in a solid state electrolyte secondary cell employing CuxTiS2 (0<x<0.1) as a positive electrode active material, Cu as a negative electrode active material and a solid state electrolyte having Cu<+> ion conductivity, preliminary discharge is continued until the open circuit voltage will drop below 0.52V so as to seal the cell with thermoplastic resin. |
