PURPOSE:To enable sheets having different sizes to be mixedly loaded in orderly alignment, by providing a tray, which orderly contains sheets in a way that the one end of a discharged sheet is forced into abutment on to alignment reference, and support means in plural layers, which suport the other ends of the discharge sheets in a laminar manner. CONSTITUTION:An arm 99 of a support frame 91 of a tray 81 is inserted in the insertion hole of a base 105 of a containing part 82. A hopper 51 is elevated by means of a ball screw 49. The hopper 51 is positioned so that sheets from a discharge roller 29 can be contained in a containing part 82 above the hopper 51 with less head. Discharge of sheets is started, and the one end of the sheet is collided with the arm 99 with the aid of a sloped base 105 for loading. When a loading surface is raised, the hopper 51 is lowered by a given distance through the working of a sensor 135. When loaded sheets are piled up to a support plate 107 secured to the containing part 82, the subsequent sheet is guided onto the upper surface of the plate 107 and the following sheets are contained in a subsequent upper layer. Thus, even if the size of the sheet is varied, resulting in production of a difference in a stage, the size of sagging of the end part of a large sheet is prevented from exceeding a distance between the plates 107.
