Finely dispersed epidermal/dermal tissue from mammals, which is prepared raw, frozen and finely dispersed or "scalded", dried and finely dispersed and which contains all the known moisture-preserving substances in the epidermis/dermis and 10% unknown such substances, and also proteins with all essential amino acids and metals of the iron and zinc types, has been able to be used, with a surprisingly good effect, as moisture-preserving and exudate/moisture-preserving element in dermatology, cosmetics and wound-healing. The epidermis/dermis mixture as such, or in another form, or as additive to different vehicles, retains its water-adsorbing, moisture- preserving properties. By adding further water-binding substances, such as polyphosphates and sodium chloride, the water-binding ability of the epidermis/dermis powder can be further potentiated, which makes it particularly suitable for use in dermatology, cosmetics and wound- healing when large amounts of exudate have to be adsorbed. |
