PLATE GRID BODY AND ITS MOLD FOR LEAD STORAGE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness and the weight of a grid by arranging spindle sections servable as pouring gates in the longitudinal and lateral crosspieces. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of pyramid or conical spindle sections 5 are formed at one side of a longitudinal crosspiece while thin crosspieces 6 are extended from the tip of the spindle section 5 to the adjoining longitudinal crosspieces. Lateral crosspieces 7 are arranged at several points while being crossed perpendicularly with the longitudinal crosspiece for the purpose of reinforcement. Consequently, the feeding head (the pressure of molten lead alloy flowed from above a mold when casting) will function effectively to the engraved spindle section 5 so that the molten metal easily flows to all corners irrespectively of small cross-section of the small crosspiece 6. While even upon collapse of demolding agent at the small crosspiece section, coupling sections are formed in the gap in the shape of thin casting burr resulting in a grid of perfect performance having no good appearance.
