PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body enhanced in char acteristics of bearing repeated uses without impairing sensitivity and superior in storage stability by incorporating a compound having a specified ammonium salt in the electrophotographic sensitive body provided with a layer containing an electrostatic charge generating material on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body provided with the layer containing the charge generating material incorporates the compound having the ammonium salt represented by general formula I in which Y is an atomic group necessary to form a ring together with N; R is H, optionally substituted alkyl, such aryl, or such alkenyl; and X<-> is an anion. Said compound has a molecular weight of <=2,000, preferably, <=750, and it is contained in an amount of 0.1-50wt%, preferably, 1-25wt% of the charge generating material. A charge transfer material may be contained in the charge generating layer containing the charge generating material, or the charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer containing the charge transfer material may be laminated. |
