TRAVELLER FOR SPINNING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To produce a traveller for a spinning machine which satisfactorily withstands high-speed rotation by subjecting an extra-low carbon high-nickel steel to a soln. heat treatment then forming the traveller and subjecting the traveller to an aging treatment. CONSTITUTION:The extra-low carbon high-nickel steel (maraging steel) is held for about 1hr at about 800-850 deg.C and is then quickly cooled (soln. heat treatment). The steel is drawn and molded to the shape of the traveller and is then heated up to about 450-520 deg.C. The traveller is held at said temp. for about 1hr and is thus aged. The traveller having about 50 HRC hardness is thus obtd. and the traveller for the spinning machine having about 300hr life even under the high speed rotation of about >=20,000rpm spindle speed.
